“I worked in a nursing home as a teenager. It was there that I decided on physical therapy as my field of study. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the current complaint.”
-Kathleen O’Reilly, PT

Caring for others has been a part of Kathleen O’Reilly’s family beliefs for as long as she can remember. As a child, Kathleen saw the difference that her mom made in the lives of others when she was the charge nurse of a nursing home in Illinois growing up. Later on, her mom took a position as a nursing supervisor on the rehab floor of a local hospital. After becoming employed alongside her, Kathleen’s mother became her first boss.

“My mom set really high standards for patient care,” Kathleen says. “She also took good care of ‘her’ nurses.”

After making her career choice, Kathleen attended Boston University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Kathleen is now a part of a rehab team that she believes in and is proud to be a part of.

“Our rehab department has an impressive depth of experience and breadth of specialties,” Kathleen says. “I personally try to respect and recognize each patient as an individual with specific goals.”

Kathleen applies these same goals to her personal life outside of work as well.

“I’ve been able to watch my four children grow to be amazing young adults,” she says.

In her free time, Kathleen enjoys sewing, cooking, reading, board games and card games.

“I really enjoy the natural beauty of the local area,” she shares. “We like to hike, bike and bird watch.”
