HOW LONG BEFORE GOING HOME?

Most families are eager to find out how long their stay in the hospital will be. Your stay includes up to two nights in the hospital for vaginal delivery and up to three nights for a cesarean section. As with everything in healthcare, everyone's individual needs are different, and stays may be adjusted due to varying health needs. We encourage you to take advantage of our expert staff in assisting you with any education, assistance and questions you need answered prior to going home.

CAR SEAT SAFETY

When it comes time for discharge, we will ask that you have your car seat in the room so the staff can assist in answering questions regarding your car seat and check to make sure that you have strapped your baby in safely. We prefer that your car seat base is safely installed in the vehicle prior to your hospital stay, according to your car seat's manual. Referencing your manual, and already having the base installed, helps to speed the process of discharge.

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

Before you go home, we will schedule your follow-up newborn weight and bilirubin checks, and a lactation consultant will visit you and your little one as needed.
