Reasons to Volunteer
Volunteers do so for many reasons, some to benefit and give back to the community and others for the benefit that it brings to you, the volunteer. Here are some of the reasons that our volunteers are here:
To help others- Selfless acts of kindness improve your outlook on life.
To make a difference- One person truly can make a difference. Why not start here?
To connect with our community- Get a better understanding of our community.
To contribute to a cause that you care about- Many individuals are interested in healthcare but were unable or chose not to get a degree in the field. You can still be involved through volunteering!
To use your skills productively- Many talents, social skills, quilting, organization, etc. can be put to use to benefit the community.
To develop new skills- Hungry for knowledge? Expand your understanding through volunteering!
To meet new people- Exposure to various cultures and new individuals often forms new friendships.
To explore new areas of interest- Curious about healthcare? Volunteering your time ensures that you can truly discover if you would enjoy the field! High school students are encouraged to volunteer as they make decisions about their future career choices. Divine Savior Healthcare even offers scholarships and forgivable loans to those who choose to participate in healthcare and who desire to gain employment though Divine Savior Healthcare.
