Ways of Giving
Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? Have you, or someone you love, been happy with the care you have received at Divine Savior Healthcare and want to give a gift which ensures others will receive the same quality care? Divine Savior Healthcare depends upon support from our patients/residents and their families. Your gifts of time and financial support are always greatly appreciated.
Gifts of Time
The Partners of Divine Savior Healthcare are visible throughout our facilities. Through volunteering, our Partners receive an increased feeling of self-esteem, a sense of well-being, an improved ability to deal with stress, depression, anxiety and illness, as well as a sense of belonging. Many times the Partners develop friendships that carry them through their years.
The Partners work closely with our staff to help meet our mission and live our values. Each partner, in his or her unique way, helps bring enrichment to Divine Savior Healthcare. Our Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with you to match your interest and talents with the needs of our organization.

Gifts of Financial Support
History of "The Reeds"
In September of 1983, Divine Savior Healthcare formed The Reeds, an honorary organization for friends of Divine Savior Healthcare who make charitable contributions.
The Reeds takes its name from the stained glass window in the hospital chapel. Called "Reeds at the River," the window was designed and made by Divine Savior Sisters Karlyn Cauley and Francine Kosednar.
A plaque near the window explains, "The reeds represent all the persons who help you and your loved ones during a period of hospitalization, through suffering and healing. Often, the illness in life bends us, but with help from others, the suffering does not have to break our lives. There can be growth in our standing together during times of need."
Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts are monies given to Divine Savior Healthcare as an organization. Administration works with the Board of Directors and the Sisters of the Divine Savior to determine where the monies will be used most beneficially.
Restricted Gifts
Restricted gifts are earmarked for a certain service or piece of equipment, allowing you to have greater control over the use of your contribution.
All checks should be made out to The Reeds of Divine Savior and sent to the Office of the CEO, Divine Savior Healthcare, PO Box 387, Portage, WI 53901. If you have questions about your financial gift, please call (608) 745-5605.
