Divine Savior Healthcare is pleased to present "The Cancer Connection," a free Speaker's Bureau presentation highlighting advances in cancer survivorship and the latest diagnostic tools used to detect cancer.

The Cancer Connection will be presented by Dr. Walter Longo and Eric Justus, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT). Dr. Longo, a board certified Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology physician, provides oncology outreach services at Divine Savior Healthcare. He is a tenured transplant physician for the adult bone marrow transplant program at UW Hospital and Clinics.

Justus leads the Medical Imaging Department at Divine Savior Healthcare, where state-of-the-art diagnostics like PET/CT scans, MRI, nuclear medicine, the R2 ImageChecker and more are available to assist our physicians in detecting and diagnosing cancer and other diseases quickly and accurately.

In addition, the PET/CT scanner will be on-site for tours and questions following the presentations Wednesday. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computerized Tomography (CT) are both standard imaging tools that allow physicians to pinpoint the location of cancer within the body before making treatment recommendations. Divine Savior Healthcare is proud to offer this technology right here in Portage.

The Cancer Connection presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Café Classrooms A&B on the lower level of Divine Savior Healthcare, 2817 New Pinery Road. Attendees are encouraged to visit the PET/CT scanner after the presentations, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
