Infant Care
Care for you and your baby doesn’t stop after the delivery process is complete. Divine Savior Healthcare provides a wide scope of post-delivery care.
Following the delivery, your baby will be weighed and measured. Erythromycin ointment will be placed in the eyes and an injection of vitamin K will be administered.
Hepatitis B vaccinations are available for free through the Vaccines for Children Program before your baby is discharged. Parents and care givers who will be near your child are encouraged to receive the Tdap vaccine as well as a means of shielding your baby from tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough.
During your stay, any needed medications for baby are always on-hand.
Hearing tests are performed on-site as well and circumcisions can be done at your request. Divine Savior Healthcare also does an infant screening for congenital heart disease after 24 hours as recommended by American Academy of Pediatrics.

Even after baby is taken safely home, Divine Savior Healthcare is eager to help you. Classes and information on breastfeeding are available at no charge. We also offer our own lactation consultant as a complimentary service. Kathy can answer questions or assist with any nursing complications that may arise.
We encourage new parents-to-be to consider our educational classes prior to birth, however, to potentially prevent any stumbling blocks and ease into parenthood more easily.
Additionally, our Birthing Center rents out professional-grade breast pumps. The cost for the Breast Pump Rental Program is a mere $15 a month. Divine Savior Healthcare can guide and assist eligible individuals in securing breast pumps through medical assistance at no charge.
