Carroll University, Waukesha, WI- Master of Physical Therapy
“I always live by the motto ‘treat others as you would like to be treated.’ I treat all my patients as if they were my own grandmother or grandfather.”
-Jennifer Hablewitz, MPT
For Jennifer Hablewitz, being a physical therapist with a focus in home care is rewarding and fulfilling.
“I get to help my patients feel comfortable and safe in their own homes. I appreciate the smiles and gratitude I get from my awesome patients and their family members for doing so,” Jennifer shares.
Jennifer chose the field of physical therapy during her freshman year of college. Originally wanting to be a police officer, her viewpoints changed. A previous knee injury from track had introduced her to the field of therapy, from there, her college course changed.
Attending the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with an Emphasis in Exercise Physiology. Next, she attended Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis. for her Master of Physical Therapy. This was accomplished with a 4.0 GPA and while raising a young family and working two jobs.
“I was able to find balance in my life while having a busy young family and while still being able to work in a profession that I love,” she tells us.
Those in our community can be grateful for the change of mind Jennifer had in early college. Her contributions to local health care are done with pride.
“With my emphasis in home care I feel that my physical therapy intervention becomes very personal. You’re always trying to go the extra step to try to help patients feel safe and comfortable in their own home.”
Outside of work, Jennifer is busy caring for her family.
“I’m a mom of four small children under the age of six, my life is consumed with them and their activities!” she says with a smile. “My favorite motto is ‘be confident with what you have, rejoice with the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking the whole world belongs to you,’” she adds.
