This comprehensive five-week course introduces parents-to-be to the fundamentals of childbirth. Topics covered include: pain control options, relaxation techniques, the labor process, C-sections, preparing for your baby, breastfeeding, and a tour of Divine Savior Healthcare’s Birthing Center. The charge for this class is $30 for those delivering at Divine Savior Healthcare, or $65 for those delivering elsewhere. These classes are held in Conference Room A & B on the lower level of the hospital from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Online Birthing Class Option

Our online childbirth class is ideal for those expectant parents who can’t attend an on-site childbirth class due to work schedules, time constraints, or medical conditions. The eight-chapter program is an interactive, web-based class that uses videos, personal birth stories, animations, activities, and games to teach all the essential information parents need to know to prepare for their birth. Participants can take the chapters at their own pace over a 90 day period, with the entire class taking approximately 4-5 hours. Our online childbirth class will help you understand pregnancy, learn about labor, see how the stages of labor unfold and discover helpful comfort techniques. Breastfeeding Workshop

This free class will introduce parents-to-be the latest information on breastfeeding. Topics covered include proper techniques, what to expect, and the benefits of breastfeeding in today’s world. This class is included in the full childbirth education class, but is also available to anyone as a stand-alone class. To register for this class, please call (608) 745-5607. Breastfeeding Support Group

This support group meets the first Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in Conference Room C at Divine Savior Healthcare, 2817 New Pinery Road.  More information is available from Certified Lactation Consultant, Kathy Bolgrihn at (608) 745-5696.

Enduring Loss Together Support Group

This support group meets the third Monday of the month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Divine Savior Healthcare. Enduring Loss Together is a bereavement support group for mothers and fathers who have lost a baby. For more information, please contact Daycia at (608) 745-5114.
