Prior to Your Stay

In order for Divine Savior Healthcare to know what your expectations and desires are for your birthing experience with us, we encourage our birthing center mothers to make a birth plan. A birth plan helps guide you through the decisions and preferences you have for your child’s birth and helps us know how best to support you during and after your labor.. Establishing your plan ahead of time ensures that your labor and delivery will be carried out in a manner which is compatible with your hopes and desires.

To ensure that your baby is brought into this world in the manner that you want, we at Divine Savior Healthcare encourage any mother who wishes to make a birth plan for that special day. A birth plan helps you to go over decisions and preferences that you may not have normally planned otherwise.

Sometimes, you realize options for your delivery that you didn’t even know were available. Establishing your priorities ahead of time ensures that the entire birth is carried out in a manner which is compatible with your hopes and desires.

The staff at Divine Savior Healthcare will adhere to your birth plan as closely as possible while you are in labor. We believe that each birth is as unique as the baby it brings. Every individual is extraordinary and holds their own set of expectations and beliefs. With this in mind, we know that what you want for your labor and delivery may be extremely different from other families in the Birthing Center. With a birth plan, you ensure that what you feel is right for your birth experience is what we carry out during the process.

While we recommend birth plans which will advocate on your behalf, it is important to understand that there may be times when adhering to your plan is not possible. This can happen for a variety of reasons, the most important being of course the safety of both mother and baby. If it ever becomes necessary to deviate from your birth plan, all options will be discussed with you. Ultimately, you will decide what alternative methods are carried out.

Divine Savior Healthcare is pleased to provide you with a birth plan to complete prior to the birth of your child. If you choose to a birth plan from another source, we will do our best to honor your wishes.

We believe it’s best to pack for your stay prior to labor. Parents-to-be may otherwise forget an important item in the excitement. For your convenience, we have a suggested packing list which you can use to prepare for your exciting experience.
